Docs Ordnary Netway
How protection works
What Ordnary Netway protects against, and what it passes through.
Netway mitigates attacks automatically, without rules to write. It looks at traffic on several layers of the network stack.
| Layer | Protects against |
|---|---|
| Layer 3 and 4 | Volumetric attacks such as SYN and UDP floods. |
| Layer 7 | Floods of HTTP requests aimed at your application. |
| TLS | Plain-text traffic: visitors always connect over HTTPS. |
What reaches your server
Clean traffic is forwarded to your server over HTTPS on port 443. Your server keeps seeing normal requests; attacks are stopped before they get there.
Status
A hostname shows as Protected once all three setup steps are complete, as Awaiting DNS while records are missing, and as Action required when something needs your attention.
